Co-operative Web love writing systems from scratch, and faced with a situation like this it is always tempting to do exactly that.  But that costs time and money and there is already something in existance that is doing the job.  So, being the types to hate waste, we took it upon ourselves to incrementally improve the system, building in new features where needed and strengthening the code where it needed to be strengthened.  The result?  The website became capable of fulfilling the original vision and RBH won awards for innovative thinking.
